A place to visit, explore and grow

Education forms an important part of our ethos and there is no better substitute for learning about food and farming than getting out onto a real farm. Thanks to the Land Trust we have excellent facilities that allow us to host school visits as well as cater for courses and workshops at all levels. Events can be tailored to suit certain aspects of the curriculum and cover a wide range of activities.

We host school visits for all ages and can organise activities and projects to fit the curriculum as necessary. The farm trail provides a great opportunity for kids to get close to nature and includes woods, orchards, a river and ponds as well as the farm with all the different animals to meet.

We also host workshops and training days, recent examples include an apple pruning workshop, Biodynamic training, and CEVAS (Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme) training. The farm also provides an alternative venue for business away days and team building events. Facilities

The farm itself provides the most important resource for education but a few other things are needed to make the event comfortable and enjoyable. The farm entrance is wide enough to accommodate coaches and we have plenty of parking in the yard. The farm garden provides a lovely picnic area in addition to being an education resource. As well as the great outdoors we have facilities in the barn that can cater for groups of all types and sizes.The barn is equipped with toilets and a shower. If you require nourishment we can provide a hearty meal of fresh organic fayre, all home produced or locally sourced.
